Description Andy Gospodarek 2010-09-02 02:51:29 UTC
Patches were added in RHEL5.5 to enable TSO on vlan devices if the
proper features were set for the driver. There was a nice performance
impact to this (I've seen ~50% drop in CPU utilization with a simple
netperf test), but I did not want to add this to all the network drivers
unless there was a way to disable it.

Comment 1 RHEL Program Management 2010-09-02 02:59:25 UTC
This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for inclusion in a Red
Hat Enterprise Linux maintenance release. Product Management has requested
further review of this request by Red Hat Engineering, for potential
inclusion in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Update release for currently deployed
products. This request is not yet committed for inclusion in an Update
release.

Comment 2 Andy Gospodarek 2010-09-02 04:08:35 UTC
The core change for this is ready. I need to prepare the individual driver changes tomorrow (err later today).
