Comment 1 Adam Huffman 2010-10-12 22:24:41 UTC
Confirmed with an installation of today's F14 tree - UK selected during installation, language defaults to en_US in the installed system.

Comment 2 Adam Huffman 2011-04-16 14:46:33 UTC
This bug is still present in F15 beta - I selected UK keyboard during installation but on boot the default language is en_US.

This message is a reminder that Fedora 13 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 30 (thirty) days from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 13. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora
'version' of '13'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 13's end of life.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 13 is end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora please change the 'version' of this
bug to the applicable version. If you are unable to change the version,
please add a comment here and someone will do it for you.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:

This still happens in f16 Beta RC4. the problem appears earlier. it seems that changing the language on Live doesn't take any effects.

even if I select Japanese from the language selection, anaconda-ks.cfg says:
lang en_US.UTF-8

but:
keyboard jp106

So something should be wrong in anaconda I suppose..

Comment 5 Akira TAGOH 2011-09-30 09:23:43 UTC
of course I didn't see Japanese translation on anaconda after selecting Japanese on the language selection and moving forward to the next page, which the installation from DVD does.

Comment 6 Akira TAGOH 2011-09-30 09:52:04 UTC
one more information I've missed the above...

anaconda on Live seems using the desktop locale no matter what the language is selected there.

Comment 7 Martin Gracik 2011-10-04 07:28:44 UTC
Yes, anaconda uses the desktop locale for language. The screen you see in the installer is the keyboard setting, not the language setting. That's why in the anaconda-ks.cfg you can see that the keyboard was changed to jp106, or else.
