Description of problem: When installing F14, the 'fedora-release-notes' postinstall scriptlet will fail unless 'coreutils' happens to get installed first -- the scriptlet uses 'touch' but has no Requires(post) for that. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): fedora-release-notes-13.2-1.fc14.noarch How reproducible: Will depend on the order of package installation. I see it with both a small (713 package) and large (2743 package) installation. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install F14, including the 'fedora-release-notes' package (and as little else as is feasible). 2. grep -A1 "Installing fedora-release-notes" /root/install.log Actual results: If 'coreutils' got installed after 'fedora-release-notes' (which may well happen): Installing fedora-release-notes-13.2-1.fc14.noarch /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.kVBnIU: line 2: touch: command not found Expected results: No "command not found" error message. Additional info: This is a handy idiom to ferret out installation errors: grep -B1 -v '^Installing' /root/install.log
neat. Just needs a Requires(post): on coreutils.
eek, unmarking assigned, I thought this was fedora-release and not fedora-release-notes.
I'll go ahead and deal with this. I want d-p-r to do this right.
