Description Matt Carlson 2010-09-15 19:36:24 UTC
Description of problem:

The output of 'ethtool -i ethx' shows the wrong firmware version for NCSI enabled devices. Commit ecc796486f0a7f4958f8dc7550267570dcacb608 fixes the problem. There is also a minor fixup that needs to be applied in the same area. NCSI does not support firmware events. The pending upstream patch, entitled "tg3: Don't send APE events for NCSI firmware" fixes the problem.

Matt - please add me to the CC list when creating new BZs if you don't mind - this is the first I've seen this...

Comment 4 Ben 2010-09-30 11:08:46 UTC
Verified it work with kernel-2.6.18-222.el5.bz634325.1.x86_64.rpm.

Comment 6 Jarod Wilson 2010-10-14 14:03:40 UTC
in kernel-2.6.18-227.el5
You can download this test kernel (or newer) from http://people.redhat.com/jwilson/el5

Detailed testing feedback is always welcomed.
