Description Flags
traceback in catalina.out when filling "Custom Cron format" with "0 11 11 11 11" none

Description Jan Hutař 2010-09-17 06:50:57 UTC
Created attachment 447914 [details]
traceback in catalina.out when filling "Custom Cron format" with "0 11 11 11 11"

Description of problem:
When I use "0 11 11 11 11" (I know, I'm missing last required part - day in the week - adding "*" to the end of the string +- fixes the issue) and click "Schedule", I get red error stating this is invalid schedule entry and then Internal Server Error.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Galactica 20100910.2
quartz-1.8.1-3.el5sat
spacewalk-taskomatic-1.2.35-1.el5sat

How reproducible:
1 of 1

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create repos and channel, assign some repo(s) to the channel
2. Go to Channels -> Manage Software Channels -> <channel> -> Repositories ->
Sync -> Custom Cron format:
3. Enter "0 11 11 11 11" and click on "Schedule"

Actual results:
Page containing:

> Invalid schedule entry: 0 11 11 11 11
>
> Internal Server Error
>
> The server experienced a problem which prevented your request from
> being filled out. It may not be possible to execute this action at
> this time.
>
> Please help us correct this problem by contacting us with details
> of how you received this message.

Expected results:
Definetelly there should not be the ISE and that schedule entry might be accepted as well.

Comment 2 Justin Sherrill 2010-09-20 17:12:56 UTC
spacewalk master: 732eb98e72d51a7e28f417227efc45bcb3b91599
satellite master: e5bbca747ff5038981a81a2a7146e43a06cd7b2b

should now throw a nice error instead of a traceback

Comment 3 Šimon Lukašík 2010-10-05 06:29:32 UTC
QA: Changing VERIFIED:

Testing procedure:
Try rich variety of inputs, search for traceback.
Wait for repo sync, when custom format.

Verified against:
Satellite-5.4.0-RHEL5-re20101001.1

Comment 4 Milan Zázrivec 2010-10-18 15:08:24 UTC
Verified in stage w/ Satellite-5.4.0-RHEL5-re20101015.0 with several
quartz - supported formats (correct & malformed).
