Nick, is the patch accepted upstream? It's too late for for RHEL5.6, I'm setting the RHEL5.7 flag.
Tomas, Yes, this has upstreamed and can be in 2.6.36.
Just a brief note to mention that as the above patch will not be making RHEL5.6 we, the ELRepo Project, have made available the kernel independent, kABI tracking kmod-arcmsr package incorporating Nick's patch. The announcement: http://lists.elrepo.org/pipermail/elrepo/2010-October/000369.html
I really don't get it. How do I update my driver in the future?

Yes. Thank you,
(In reply to comment #6) > Yes. > Thank you, Nick, if you want to post an updated version, do it now. Do you want add for example this - "Fix the issue of system hangup after commands timeout on ARC-1200(Type_B controller)" - do you think it has good chances to be accepted?
Hi Tomas, It is been accepted by kernel org. You can review on http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/jejb/scsi-rc-fixes-2.6.git;a=commit;h=97b991277a9966333b3bcea0d972822278780694. But this is for the latest kernel. I am afraid it could not be compatible with RHEH5.X. I do plan update to RHEL6.X. Should I post it here or open another session for your convenience?

I'm not sure why, but I'll leave it up to you. You decide if you want backport this to RHEL5. > I do plan update to RHEL6.X. > Should I post it here or open another session for your convenience? Open a bugzilla please. We are used to do it so - each backport to different RHEL version deserves his own bugzilla entry.
