Do not repeat real calls on error. Use a ping-like call instead (e.g. task_info) and repeat the failed call only if the ping was OK.

After few failed attempts we may suppose the problem is not temporary and incompatibility or a bug in harness and/or scheduler was found and after logging the problem continue with next calls.

This may not work 100% but still better than having jobs killed by EWD without any report and broken job.

Beah is no longer supported by Beaker development team.
Instead of that, we are working on Restraint test harness. You can find all the features of Restraint here.
