Not much information here, but is this a duplicate of 624559?

Comment 3 Perry Myers 2010-09-28 14:46:56 UTC
624559 is for RHEL6, this bug is for RHEL5. So not a duplicate because they are for different products. But yes, it's effectively the same bug.

Yes; but for RHEL 5

I believe that RHEL product management are considering adding python-pycurl to RHEL 5.

I asked them to clone bug 624559, to track fixing that refcounting bug on the RHEL5 version of the src.rpm. I don't know which version of the src.rpm is planned to be used.

Hope this makes sense.

To the RH folks here, I note that Jeff currently maintains python-pycurl within the EPEL5 community repo:
  https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/acls/name/python-pycurl

Is a relevant bug that you can CC him on, as a heads-up on a possible EPEL->RHEL transition?

"Is there a", I meant to say

Comment 7 Karel Klíč 2010-09-29 14:31:20 UTC
The python-pycurl package for RHEL5 is not affected by this bug. The do_curl_reset() function which is causing the reference count problem is not present in pycurl-7.15.5.1.

I checked that the reference count is properly increased every time Py_None is returned by a function in src/pycurl.c.
