This bug has been copied from bug #475814 and has been proposed to be backported to 5.3 z-stream (EUS).

The reproducer remains unknown. According http://lkml.org/lkml/2008/3/12/207 the bug was reproduced on eight Xeon machine. I've tested heavy aio multithreaded reads with aio-stress on machine with eight Xeons. I've never triggered the hang on unpatched -128.25.1.el5 nor patched -128.26.1.el5.
code review. Verified the patch is actually being applied in 2.6.18-128.26.el5 source.
