Created attachment 450825 [details] screenshot showing the swap-is-needed-to-compete-installation message Description of problem: When the installer detects that there is not enough memory to complete the installation and no swap space has been configured, it displays a warning. Such a warning is perfectly reasonable, but the message does not say how much memory the system has or how much the installer thinks it needs. The user might choose to buy more RAM (or increase it in a VM), rather than waste disk space on a swap partition. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Fedora-13-x86_64-DVD.iso How reproducible: Always. Steps to Reproduce: 1. $ qemu-kvm -m 512m -cdrom Fedora-13-x86_64-DVD.iso -hda f13-1.img -boot menu=on 2. Choose Custom Layout. 3. Delete all pre-existing partitions. 4. Create one "/" partition using the entire disk. Actual results: See attached screenshot. Expected results: Warning reports the amount of memory available and the amount of memory/swap it thinks it needs. Additional info: Bug 629242 - forces use of swap partition
This will be fixed in the next build of anaconda for rawhide. Thanks for the suggestion.
