Copied from irc because I'm lazy...

<sherr-wfh> cliff-eat, if you're installing on a system that already has some proxy packages installed, the first thing it does is uninstall a bunch of stuff so that the install step can run smoothly later
<sherr-wfh> cliff-eat, it tries to uninstall, among other things, jabberd
<sherr-wfh> cliff-eat, jabberd is required by spacewalk-setup-jabberd, and the script doesn't have that on it's list of things to remove
<sherr-wfh> so the uninstall script fails, so then the whole proxy install fails
<sherr-wfh> cliff-eat, i will file another bug

It can be worked around if you manually remove those packages and do rhn_check.

Managed to reproduce it on Satellite-5.4.0-RHEL5-re20101001.1.

I test the issue on Satellite-5.4.0-RHEL5-re20101008.1/.
The installer intend to remove both jabberd and spacewalk-setup-jabberd.
I guess this fix the isssue.

The 5.4.0 RHN Satellite and RHN Proxy release has occurred. This issue has been resolved with this release.
