Description Simon Schampijer 2010-10-06 11:45:23 UTC
Description of problem:

This behavior was changed in xulrunner 1.9.1 and upstream has recently applied
a patch to optionally re-enable it by adding a config option "ui.use_activity_cursor". Since trunk won't be available for quite some time it would be great if we could apply the patch for F14.

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=482985

This is the commit to mozilla's HEAD:

http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/raw-rev/2d7916087cc3

Please consider applying this patch to our 1.9.1 rpms. User-reported ticket at:

http://dev.sugarlabs.org/ticket/851

Old ticket for F11: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=524377

I have patched the F11 rpm for OLPC just fine: http://dev.laptop.org/ticket/10383

Ping. Can this patch go in?

I'd be happy to give it a test and do the commit/build/update (for F14 and rawhide) if that helps.

This patch is in xulrunner master so should be zero maintenance and can be dropped soon, probably for F15.

Otherwise OLPC has to fork the xulrunner package for 2 Fedora versions, and non-OLPC Sugar users don't receive the fix.

FWIW, I pinged as well the mozilla folks another time, but does not look to have been heard. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=482985#c94

Hi What is the status on this, did the patch go to xulrunner-1.9.2 ?

No :( For 11.2.0 OLPC will likely to ship a patched xulrunner again.

Nice, I hope that this patched version has also the changes for 1.9.2, I've tested some bugs that are not happening with that version.

Yes, based on the latest F14 version: http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=241312
