Description of problem: Every so often, my machine will hang. Probably once every two or three days. I leave my machine on overnight, and will often come into work in the morning and find myself having to reboot it. Occasionally, it hangs while I'm using it. The immediate symptoms ar ethe my music player (xmms) goes silent and the clock (xdaliclock) stops. The mouse cursor still moves, but everything else is unresponsive. Windows don't take focus when I move the cursor over them. I can't type anything (nor switch to another VT, nor even turn on the keyboard LEDs by pressing the NumLock key, for example). The only option at that point is to reboot (which I can do using magic SysRq, which seems to be the only key sequence that still works). Looking at /var/log/messages after the most recent reboot, I got this logged immediately before the hang: Oct 6 15:50:53 mrburns kernel: [drm] nouveau 0000:02:00.0: PFIFO_DMA_PUSHER - Ch 1 Oct 6 15:50:53 mrburns kernel: [drm] nouveau 0000:02:00.0: PGRAPH_ERROR - nSource: DATA_ERROR, nStatus: BAD_ARGUMENT Oct 6 15:50:53 mrburns kernel: [drm] nouveau 0000:02:00.0: PGRAPH_ERROR - Ch 1/2 Class 0x4497 Mthd 0x020c Data 0x00000000:0x3e233333 Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): xorg-x11-drv-nouveau-0.0.16-8.20100423git13c1043.fc13.x86_64 How reproducible: Frequent, but irregular and not explicitly reproducible Steps to Reproduce: 1. Very interesting, I suspect that whatever the cause of this is is the same as https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=609764, but this is the first report I've ever seen on non-GF8+ hardware.

Immediately before the most recent hang, I got this in the log file: Oct 19 17:08:07 mrburns kernel: [drm] nouveau 0000:02:00.0: PFIFO_DMA_PUSHER - Ch 1
*** Bug 642204 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
This message is a reminder that Fedora 13 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 30 (thirty) days from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 13. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '13'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 13's end of life. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 13 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora please change the 'version' of this bug to the applicable version. If you are unable to change the version, please add a comment here and someone will do it for you. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. The process we are following is described here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping
Fedora 13 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2011-06-25. Fedora 13 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
