RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

This is a medium issue and it can be fixed on 6.1.

Comment 2 Osier Yang 2011-01-25 12:46:08 UTC
Yimiao, could you try to reproduce it? I think we have fixed it, as if you use SDL as graphic for newer qemu-kvm, we need to reject it.

* Fri Jan 15 2010 Eduardo Habkost <ehabkost> -
qemu-kvm-0.12.1.2-2.5.el6
- Remove unneeded/unsupported features: [bz#555336]
  - make default options explicit
  - remove sdl support

SDL is removed from qemu-kvm since 0.12.1.2-2.5.el6, and we rejected SDL graphic use if the underly qemu doens't support it. see:

http://www.redhat.com/archives/libvir-list/2011-January/msg00460.html

Comment 3 Osier Yang 2011-01-25 12:51:16 UTC
I mean on the newest libvirt, if it rejects SDL, it's fixed.

Comment 4 wangyimiao 2011-01-26 02:10:02 UTC
Follow the comment 3,test passed on build:
libvirt-0.8.7-3.el6.x86_64
qemu-kvm-0.12.1.2-2.129.el6.x86_64
qemu-img-0.12.1.2-2.129.el6.x86_64
kernel-2.6.32-94.el6.x86_64.

Steps:
1.defined a guest with:
........................
 <graphics type='sdl' display=':0.0' xauth='/root/.Xauthority'/>
........................

2.start guest with sdl

# virsh start vm2
error: Failed to start domain vm2
error: unsupported configuration: sdl not supported by '/usr/libexec/qemu-kvm'
