hmm not just an upstream issue? fix/changes forthcoming: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=254150 ------- Comment #1 From Jaroslav Reznik 2010-10-14 17:26:50 ------- This is Fedora only issue. It's caused by polkit-qt-0.96.1-fix-deprecated-warnings.patch patch that makes use of newly introduced polkit methods. I'm going to revert this patch for now in Fedora. We need much more work to make polkit-qt and polkit-kde match the current polkit (as we're unfortunately tied to its development :(. ------ Comment #2 From Jason Harvey 2010-10-14 17:42:00 ------- Thank you Jaroslav, removing that patch has fixed it for me. also note that the upstream bug is no longer 254175 but rather 254150 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=254150 ------- Comment #3 From Christoph Feck 2010-10-14 20:17:18 ------- *** Bug 254175 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Yes, it's Fedora only issue. It's built already in Koji, please test http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=200509. There's possibility it can reintroduce #637064 again.
polkit-qt-0.96.1-3.fc14 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 14. https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/polkit-qt-0.96.1-3.fc14
I can confirm polkit-qt-0.96.1-3.fc14 seems to have fixed my crash problems with Kpackagekit also.
Hi, I can confirm too that polkit-qt-0.96.1-3.fc14 has solved the latest issue. And I didn't have any crash at logout. btw. the version for F15 is also working again. Thanks, Martin Kho Can I give karma as a more or less anonymous user?
(yes you can give anonymous karma, though it doesn't count as much or at all)
Anybody can give positive feedback in Bodhi by providing only a non-validated e-mail address, but to actually get counted in the karma score, you have to register for a FAS (Fedora Account System) account and log in with that account in Bodhi.
seems to be improving, see: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=254300 paraphrased comments from kde-bug#254300 : Comment #2 From collura 2010-10-15 21:43:40 (-) [reply] ------- note: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/polkit-qt-0.96.1-3.fc14?_csrf_token=8be42b62a36bb16534787af5019f45bb5f439383 Anonymous Tester - 2010-10-15 19:42:50 installed polkit-qt-0.96.1-3.fc14 (x86_64) and polkit-qt-debug-0.96.1-3.fc14 (x86_64) then shutdown/rebooted (no crash) then on reboot installed a package (yay it worked) because i actually got the authentication window so was able to complete an install of a package then reboot (crashed on way down so filed https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=254300 ) then rebooted and installed packages various times and had no further crashes at reboots. so not sure if completely fixed but definitely improved. the crashes were intermittent beforehand (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=254175 (closed as duplicate of 254150))
