Description Marc Maurer 2010-10-17 22:22:12 UTC
Description of problem:
libgsf generates invalid zip files. This means for example that *all* documents written by AbiWord and GNumeric in the OpenDocument format are corrupt.

See https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=614672
and https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=632405

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
1.14.17

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Just save any document in either abiword or gnumeric in ODF format, and try to open it in OpenOffice.org
2.
3.

Actual results:
Corrupt documents are generated

Expected results:
Non-corrupt documents should be generated

Additional info:
This has been the only fix in libgsf 1.14.18: ftp://ftp.gnome.org/pub/gnome/sources/libgsf/1.14/libgsf-1.14.18.news

Please upgrade to at least this version. There is also a 1.14.19 release, but when feeling conservative, 1.14.18 will be a huge improvement already. It would mean the difference between corrupted documents and valid documents.

Not sure why this is now an issue in Oct 2010 when F-13 was released in May or something

It is now an issue because OOo never complained, so we never noticed it before (especially since libgsf could open its own files)
