few more informations from a new bug today, and probably usefull :

- I disabled one of my accounts
- My contacts from this disable account were still shown online, but other from another account, still enable, were shown offline (even if they were online for real)
- I clicked to see on one of the "online" contact from the disable account, so empathy crashed

Comment 12 Nicolas Karmazyn 2011-01-05 10:04:32 UTC
By the way, I've experiment another bug, may be in relation with this bug : many of my contacts see me "offline" even if I'm online, with no restrictions to their accounts. I can contact them, seeing them online, but they can't contact me.

The contacts remaining in the contact list after disabling an account is due to a bug in folks, but sadly we won't be able to update folks to a more recent version since the dependencies needed aren't available in F14.

Comment 23 Paolo Leoni 2011-04-01 14:22:51 UTC
Thank you Brian, I suppose this bug is yet fixed in F15.

Comment 24 Ján Jamrich 2011-04-14 10:22:46 UTC
Package: empathy-2.32.2-1.fc14
Architecture: x86_64
OS Release: Fedora release 14 (Laughlin)

How to reproduce
-----
1. create 2 (jabber) accounts (for existing account, with some existing contacts)
2. come online
3. delete one account, close dialog for managing accounts
4. you can still see contacts from account you have just deleted in your rooster
5. double click to contact from deleted account
6. empathy crash

Comment
-----
I use multiple jabber accounts in empathy (gtalk account, XMPP transport from facebook, plus two regular jabber accounts.)
Then I decided to delete one from jabber accounts through F4, selected appropriate account in list, click remove and then close dialog.

But after this steps, I still saw some contacts from account I have deleted... Some of them was online, so I tried to double click on one not sure if I really deleted account I wanted (and not other I didn't want delete...). But empathy crashed after this.
When started empathy again, realized that correct account was deleted, and everything is ok. So, its only about contacts which don't disappear when delete account where they belongs to.

Thanks
JJa

This should already be fixed in F15, but won't be fixed in F14 since the necessary deps (vala in this case) aren't recent enough.

Comment 28 Fedora End Of Life 2012-08-16 21:47:16 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 14 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 14. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
of '14' have been closed as WONTFIX.

(Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this
occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.)

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen
this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we were unable to fix it before Fedora 14 reached end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that
version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
