Description of problem: An update to upstart-sysvinit has added the following Obsoletes: systemd-sysvinit < 10-3 The most recent build of systemd in koji is systemd-10-2.fc14.1, which is obsoleted by the above. This makes it currently impossible to install systemd with yum. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Name : upstart-sysvinit Arch : i686 Version : 0.6.5 Release : 10.fc14
This obsolete was needed during devel phase to transfer users/testers back to upstart after systemd was rejected as default init system. I've dropped it since I think there's no need to force this now.
Could you please push an update for F14? It's a trivial fix and enables users to test systemd before F15 hits (having to build and install fixed upstart first is not very convenient).
I don't think it will help you since systemd is not really maintained in F14 - systemd-10 in f14 vs systemd-26 in f15. You will also need F15 initscripts, udev, dracut ... Nevertheless I'll push upstart-1.2 update into F14 soon.
Thanks (FYI, rpm -e --nodeps upstart-sysvinit && yum install systemd-sysvinit works fine on my F14, without updating any other packages. Yes, it's outdated, but working nevertheless.)
