Description Paul Smith 2010-11-07 21:46:25 UTC
I have just upgraded from F13 to F14, and I am using XFCE. The problem
I am experiencing now is the following: the background of the cursor
on consoles is opaque, i.e., the letter behind is not showed.

Thanks in advance,

Paul

I'm not seeing this here.

What do you have your cursor set to?

can you attach your ~/.config/Terminal/terminalrc ?

Do any of the other vte terminals work?
(gnome-terminal, roxterm, lxterminal, etc)

Comment 2 Paul Smith 2010-11-08 18:19:12 UTC
Thanks, Kevin. The reported problem does not arise with gnome-terminal (I do not have installed the other terminals). I am going to attach my terminalrc file.

Odd, so your cursor is black and the text is black?
If you change the cursor to a lighter color does it work as expected?

In oder to show the text when the cursor is the same color, it would have to invert or something right?

Or am I misunderstanding the issue?

I think so.

Thanks,

Paul

ok, so sounds like this will need to be a RFE upstream to handle the case where cursor color and text at the same.

Would you care to file it yourself? Or would you like me to do so?

Would you like me to keep this open? Or just follow the upstream bug?

Happy to do either.

well, I am cc'ed on the upstream bug, so lets close this one and I can land a fix after it's landed upstream.

Thanks very much for filing this. :)
