1. Feature Overview:
    See Summary
     b. Feature Description
The intel_idle driver was added upstream in 2.6.35.

It loads in lieu of acpi_idle -- though acpi_idle
is still present to handle systems that intel_idle
does not know about.

The intent of intel_idle is to allow Linux to better
take advantage of on Intel hardware on Dell PowerEdge servers, and make Linux
more immune to ACPI BIOS bugs and shortcomings of the ACPI implementation itself.

2. Feature Details:

         32-bit x86
         64-bit Intel EM64T/AMD64
