Description of problem: At least on some boots of rawhide kernels I see the following in dmesg: [ 25.837955] rtkit-daemon[906]: Successfully called chroot. [ 25.876843] rtkit-daemon[906]: Successfully dropped privileges. [ 25.908323] rtkit-daemon[906]: Successfully limited resources. [ 25.939126] rtkit-daemon[906]: Running. [ 25.969631] rtkit-daemon[906]: Failed to make ourselves RT: Operation not permitted [ 26.000782] rtkit-daemon[906]: Watchdog thread running. [ 26.031907] rtkit-daemon[906]: Canary thread running. What "Operation not permitted" and what is the point of this rtkit-daemon if "Failed to make ourselves RT"? When I am not seeing this then there are no messages from rtkit-daemon at all. Colour me confused. On my test system selinux is turned off so this is not look like it. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): rtkit-0.9-1.fc14.x86_64 How reproducible: Whenever there is something from rtkit-daemon that "Failed ..." is there.
