Description of problem: python-genshi 0.6 is required for some newer package dependencies. EPEL for EL5 currently ships python-genshi 0.5.[1] Red Hat EL 6 is now shipping python-genshi 0.5 as well. However, EPEL for EL6 is building python-genshi06 to address these dependencies.[2] Please backport python-genshi06 from EPEL for EL6 to match in EPEL for EL5. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): python-genshi-0.5.x-x How reproducible: N/A Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: N/A Expected results: N/A Additional info: [1] python-genshi 0.5 in EPEL for EL5: http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=4513 [2] python-genshi06 0.6 in EPEL for EL6 (0.5 in Red Hat EL 6 release): http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=11244 Also see "[RFE] Update Trac to version 0.12" in BZ#658952 (EL5) and BZ#658954 (EL6): https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=658952 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=658954
If Trac is the only motivation for this on EL5, consider this a NACK, unless you wish to package up trac-0.11 as parallel installable with the existing trac-0.10. Existing users of 0.10 cannot be upgraded.
Actually, only python-genshi version 0.5 is required for Trac 0.11: http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/rpminfo?rpmID=1974278 So the python-genshi06 concurrent install must be for another requirement. One would have to package Trac 0.12 to require python-genshi 0.6: http://trac.edgewall.org/milestone/0.12
Sorry, I typoed the 0.11 above. If one were to package up a new trac for EL5, one would shoot for 0.12, or even 0.13 if it comes out any time soon).
So, where are we here? Bryan: Do you intend to submit a newer parallel installable trac for epel5? If so, I would be happy to branch this for epel5. If not, shall we just close this out?
No news for months. ;) I am going to close this now. Feel free to re-open it if you need/want me to do something here.
