Currently the MongoDB client library is built as static library. According to http://www.mongodb.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=133415#C%2B%2BTutorial-FullDatabaseSourceDriverBuild there is a --sharedclient option to build a shared library. According to the packaging guidelines, and in particular when considering having multiple processes running using MongoDB it would be beneficial to provide the shared instead of the static library. This applies to the most recent version (1.6.4) from the updates-testing repository (tested on F-13, but rawhide spec also packages static library).
