Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 661172
MCP55 message on screen at boot even with quiet
Last modified: 2011-05-23 16:31:05 EDT
We print the FOUND MCP55 CHIP DETECTED RESTRICTED ROUTING ON MCP55! FLAGGING on boot here on my machine since fd2b5e066eff26ed569c91e740d121cee1521899 this isn't something we should be seeing during a quiet boot, these messages aren't Critical and its looks really unprofessional to produce message of this type on boot a) they look like a real problem has occured. b) the user can't do anything to get rid of them. I think KERN_WARNING should be fine, since the messages will appear in the dmesg for support cases.
