Description of problem: When boot finishes GDM does not display fields for entering user/password. If GDM is restarted either telinit 3; telinit 5 from a non-graphic console or though CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE then the new instance behaves normally. The problem looks to be that at boot GDM starts before the keyboard is initialized. That is why only the GDM started at boot exhibits this problem Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Depends on the machine. On one of mine is nearly 100% while in another it is quite rare. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Fedora 14 and pick Gnome 2. Reboot 3. This is still a really annoying problem for me. It would be great if someone could take a look at it.
I have experienced this problem. If anyone would like me to perform some diagnostic tests to assist in determining the cause of this issue or to identify possible fixes I am willing.
