Description of problem: Compiz can't work on Fedora 14. I try in kernel-2.6.35.10-74.fc14.i686 and my rebuild kernel-2.6.37. Both case, can't work. I check all ok in my ATI graphicdriver using compiz-check from download http://blogage.de/files/9124/download. And glxinfo|grep direct: direct rendering: Yes But, select [system]->[Desktop Effect]->[compiz], no toolbar and only wallpaper, logout. In kernel-2.6.33.3-85.fc13.i686 case, Compiz can work. Could you try to run desktop-effects from the gnome-terminal? Does it produce any interesting messages on stdout/stderr? Also, to understand better what's going on, please add drm.debug=0x04 to the kernel command line, restart computer, and attach * your X server config file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf, if available), * X server log file (/var/log/Xorg.*.log) * output of the dmesg command, and * system log (/var/log/messages) to the bug report as individual uncompressed file attachments using the bugzilla file attachment link above. can work in old kernel(I test kernel version is 2.6.33). why can not work in kernel 2.6.34 and newer? what change radeon driver for rv100?
f14 isn't going to get much beyond security fixes at this point in its lifecycle. If this is still happening on f15, please reopen or file a new bug.
