SELinux is preventing /usr/bin/python from 'write' accesses on the directory yum. ***** Plugin catchall (100. confidence) suggests *************************** If you believe that python should be allowed write access on the yum directory by default. Then you should report this as a bug. You can generate a local policy module to allow this access. Do allow this access for now by executing: # grep yum /var/log/audit/audit.log | audit2allow -M mypol # semodule -i mypol.pp Additional Information: Source Context system_u:system_r:abrt_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023 Target Context system_u:object_r:rpm_tmp_t:s0 Target Objects yum [ dir ] Source yum Source Path /usr/bin/python Port <Unknown> Host (removed) Source RPM Packages python-2.7.1-5.fc15 Target RPM Packages Policy RPM selinux-policy-3.9.13-4.fc15 Selinux Enabled True Policy Type targeted Enforcing Mode Enforcing Host Name (removed) Platform Linux (removed) 2.6.38-0.rc2.git0.1.fc15.x86_64 #1 SMP Sat Jan 22 19:02:39 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 Alert Count 1 First Seen Mon 24 Jan 2011 04:03:15 AM IST Last Seen Mon 24 Jan 2011 04:03:15 AM IST Local ID 16887d1a-bc17-44e9-99ae-4d58a89c2458 Raw Audit Messages type=AVC msg=audit(1295821995.469:142): avc: denied { write } for pid=5614 comm="yum" name="yum" dev=dm-1 ino=796087 scontext=system_u:system_r:abrt_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023 tcontext=system_u:object_r:rpm_tmp_t:s0 tclass=dir type=SYSCALL msg=audit(1295821995.469:142): arch=x86_64 syscall=mkdir success=no exit=EACCES a0=157c1a0 a1=1ed a2=7f5645473420 a3=7fffd7de7c10 items=0 ppid=5613 pid=5614 auid=4294967295 uid=0 gid=0 euid=0 suid=0 fsuid=0 egid=0 sgid=0 fsgid=0 tty=(none) ses=4294967295 comm=yum exe=/usr/bin/python subj=system_u:system_r:abrt_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023 key=(null) Hash: yum,abrt_t,rpm_tmp_t,dir,write audit2allow #============= abrt_t ============== #!!!! Some how we ended up with a directory names yum labeled rpm_tmp_t? Probably under run or lib ls -ldZ /var/run/yum /var/lib/yum
No /var/run/yum ls -ldZ /var/lib/yum drwxr-xr-x. root root system_u:object_r:rpm_var_lib_t:s0 /var/lib/yum
