Description of problem: The version going into RHEL-6.1 beta is the one attached to bug #641833, it is not the version going into qemu-upstream, but a submitted one (see the attachments on that bug). There are going to be some changes that will happen in the beta-GA window. That changes must be in RHEL-6.1 to allow upstream parity from the start. They include (based on the already known review comments that are not fixed in #641833) an updated protocol for talking to the remote card, this is the bit that will make the two versions (#641833 and upstream) not compatible.
Hi Keqin, I guess if you don't have the hardware it's better then nothing. But can't you get the card delivered from westford? please talk to Jonathan Blandford <jrb> about this. The hardware reader itself is much easier to come by, and it should cost relatively little, for example doing an amazon search I find quite a number of those: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=cac+smart+card+reader&x=0&y=0 Alon.
Since bug 641834, is back in Assigned state, we'll use it for patches to make RHEL-6.1 and upstream v24 the same. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 641833 ***
