Description of problem: I change the time zone in Gnome control-center (either by going to System Settings -> Date and Time or by going to "Date and Time Settings" in the calendar drop-down. I change the time zone, but it doesn't seem to take effect. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): control-center-2.91.6-3.fc15.i686 (it was the same with earlier versions as well, for at least the past week) How reproducible: Completely Steps to Reproduce: 1. Grab latest packages from Rawhide + Koji 2. Log into Gnome Shell 3. Go into the Date and Time configuration screen 4. Unlock the settings 5. Change the time zone 6. Exit the window (or click on "All settings") 7. Go back into the Date and Time configuration screen 8. See the original time zone still there :-( Actual results: The old time zone is still there Expected results: I assume that if I change the time zone, it should stick until I change it again. Additional info:
Do you get any SELinux denials when you change the timezone? Which version of gnome-settings-daemon did you test with?
There were no SELinux denials. My version of gnome-settings-daemon is gnome-settings-daemon-2.91.9-1.fc15.i686
Completely my fault this one, trying to work around rogue clients. The fix will be in gnome-settings-daemon-2.91.9-2 which is building now. I managed to change the timezone to Aruba (haaa) and back, without problems.
