Description Raphael Groner 2011-02-04 01:22:33 UTC
Description of problem:
It is not possible to watch movies with gnash in Firefox as well as Midori on some pages that use swfobject.js to embed Flash content dynamically.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
gnash-0.8.8-4.fc14.x86_64
gnash-plugin-0.8.8-4.fc14.x86_64
firefox-3.6.13-1.fc14.x86_64
midori-0.2.9-4.fc14.x86_64
webkitgtk-1.3.10-1.fc14.x86_64

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open example URL (given below) in browser with installed gnash-plugin.
2.
3.

Actual results:
A white box is visible. FireBug shows error "getSWF().startPlayer is not a function", probably due to now javascript in DOM of the document's "object" element with desired Flash player.

Expected results:
Play flash video.

Additional info:
The page works with Adobe Flash Player. Also tried with Lightspark, no success.

Example URL: http://rtl-now.rtl.de/cobra.php?container_id=22620&player=1&season=13

SWFObject: https://code.google.com/p/swfobject/

I can't reproduce this bug

Comment 2 Raphael Groner 2011-02-17 13:46:40 UTC
They change the stream from week to week, sorry about that.

http://rtl-now.rtl.de/cobra.php

I can see (today) a big white box at the top of the page, right under the header.

To reproduce the error message "getSWF().startPlayer is not a function getSWF().startPlayer(); " in Firebug, click on the "FREE" movie on the left under the flash box. You will see again just a white box, besides the error in Firebug.

Comment 3 Hicham HAOUARI 2011-02-18 13:00:45 UTC
swf in there is avm2, which isn't supported by gnash.

Comment 4 Raphael Groner 2011-02-19 21:52:34 UTC
I'll add two screenshots for upstream reporting, done with Lightspark and Firefox.
