The log file seems to indicate that it cannot connect to the database. Ensure it is working correctly. Please use either IRC channel #spacewalk or mailing lists for troubleshooting - bugzilla is best used to report bugs in product.

Moving this bug to right component.

Regards,
Cliff

Hello

I have tried that, but did niot receive much assistance. The database is working fine. I have tried both methods, ie with and twithout tnsmames.ora.

I also ran the spacewalk-setup --upgrade after each change and no difference.

More info

I am able to get to oracle xe with the apex web interface. I am also able to use sqlplus to connect as dba and the spacewalk udb user and can list records with select.

New SW1.3 Install

Comment 8 Kobus 2011-02-11 09:29:31 UTC
I have now completely removed all traces of sw1.3. tried to install 1.2 with the previous oracle 10 clients. would not have it so i tried another 1.3 install from scratch. wiped everything. here is the logs after the install, shut down everything and started it up. logs include the startup al the way to fisrt webui access, which fails.

Hello Kobus,

I wonder, If you can provide more detailed description of
'I fixed this'. Sharing such knowledge may help others,
in situation similar to yours.

In this ticket, it's also unclear whether you have fixed
defect in a software, or in configuration. Consequently,
the status of this bugzilla might be incorrect.

Thanks,
Simon
