EPEL 5 still delivers mysql-proxy 0.5.1, even if it is at 0.8.1 in the meanwhile. EPEL 6 doesn't provide mysql-proxy at all. I can support you in maintaining the package if you like. :)
Yes please, if you don't mind taking over the EPEL branches that would be great.
Just requested access to those branches in pkgdb. :)
And granted.. :)
Guess it won't be possible to build 0.8.1 for EPEL 5 due to missing or rather wrong Glib dependencies. The Glib on my Centos 5.5 machine is current and seems way to old for what MySQL-Proxy 0.8.1 is asking for. Anyway, there is a successful scratchbuild for EPEL6 which can be found here: http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=2835419
Ah, that's a shame. I think I've tried building 0.8 for EPEL 5 before, but your right, the deps are too old. If you've tested your build for EPEL6 then go for it!
