Description of problem: From time to time, Xorg/KDE/Linux hard freezes (must use sysrq or reset button) Feb 13 17:49:31 ulquiorra kernel: BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at 00000000000000c8 Feb 13 17:49:31 ulquiorra kernel: IP: [<ffffffffa0607899>] _nv003034rm+0x27/0x6e [nvidia] Feb 13 17:49:31 ulquiorra kernel: PGD 22c32a067 PUD 22c329067 PMD 0 Feb 13 17:49:31 ulquiorra kernel: Oops: 0002 [#1] SMP Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): kernel 2.6.34.7-66.fc13.x86_64 xorg-x11-server-Xorg.x86_64 1.8.2-4.fc13 nVIDIA(P) driver version 260.19.29 I must use it, as a workaround, due to bugs: * Freedesktop: Bug 26980 - NVA3 / NVA5 / NVA8 / NVAF (GT2xx/GT3xx) with nouveau: random GPU lockups * Fedora: bug 645610 xorg keyboard stops working, must reboot or restart xorg (which it does happen also with nVIDIA(P) & previously with nouveau with or without acceleration. How reproducible: Cannot be reproduced inentionally. Generally when hoover over taskbar / window buttons or any transparency / similar effect. Or when leaving KDE. Additional info: KDE Desktop effects are disabled. I do use pce_aspm=off to workaround Fedora bug: 611350 ATA frozen , random pauses, every disk (workaround: pcie_aspm=off) The mobo is a M4N72-E (750a), very bugged under Fedora13/14, under Slack64 13.1 there were no known problems for the many months i used it.
Created attachment 478518 [details] messages showing the crash I just had my eee conected via ssh and executing a tail -f /var/messages when it happened, so i finally has some info.

This message is a reminder that Fedora 13 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 30 (thirty) days from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 13. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '13'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 13's end of life. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 13 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora please change the 'version' of this bug to the applicable version. If you are unable to change the version, please add a comment here and someone will do it for you. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. The process we are following is described here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping
The only solution to the problem so far was to remove the nvidia card. I got an RADEON HD5670 and i hit the bug-report 645610 problem once, but it worked much better. And i am using F15 since alpha, so eventually i will remove F13.
Fedora 13 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2011-06-25. Fedora 13 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
