Thanks, I forwarded this to the Hugin bugtracker: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hugin/+bug/721022 I believe that Hugin 2010.4.0 no longer crashes when attempting to open cr2 files, but the 'time series of images' function should only attempt to open known image files, so this is a bug.
Closing, as this has now been fixed upstream. I won't backport the fix, I expect the next 2011.0.0 release will be out in time for f15.
