Description of problem: This is a usability issue rather than a specific bug. Perhaps a FutureFeature? I was editing with gedit and CRASH. Abrt picked the crash up and i tried submitting a report. But i got the message: "• Reporting disabled because the backtrace is unusable. Please try to install debuginfo manually using the command: debuginfo-install gedit then use the Refresh button to regenerate the backtrace." Okay... well what if I (don't want to|can't) install 200mb+ of debuginfo pkgs. I just want to submit the crash report to bugzilla with a comment. Currently, i'm unable to because the 'FORWARD' button is disabled. I'm force to install debug pkgs. One should be able to submit automated reports without requiring debug info pkgs. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Version : 1.1.14
Well, reporting without debuginfo will lead to very unhappy developer(s) who will get an incomplete backtrace and will ask you to install debuginfo and send the backtrace anyway. So if you don't want to install debuginfo then you need to use bugzilla webui to report a bug - we had enough flames on fedora-devel about ABRT sending useless backtraces...
Two solutions: debuginfofs, retrace server. Retrace server will be available for Fedora 15.
Thanks for the info. Looking forward to f15 then!
