Pictures says more than a thousand word see attachment..

sometimes when you select text and click reply evolution crashes which may or may not be related to this bug and abrt does not catch these crashes...

Probably a GDK or Cairo issue.

Thanks for a bug report. No attachment added, somehow. Nonetheless, I think I know what you mean. I fixed something similar in Gnome-canvas already. It was doing that earlier too, only before gtk3 the unpainted area wasn't black, but white (or rather kept there the previous content), so it didn't flicker so violently.

The problem with gnome-canvas was that it didn't paint in the 'draw' callback immediately when an update on the canvas was received, it rather invalidated the area again and did repaint later.

Either way, I moved this upstream as [1].
