Description Paresh Mutha 2011-02-23 07:04:56 UTC
Description of problem:
On RHN Satellite v5.4, there are few guests systems registered and are consuming regular entitlements. Executing recognize_guests.py against that satellite doesn't recognize few guest systems which are consuming regular entitlement

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
RHN Satellite v5.4

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Register few guest systems on RHN Satellite v5.4
2.Execute recognize_guests.py

Actual results:
Few systems are not listed as guests

Expected results:
All guests which are consuming regular entitlement should be listed and converted as guest

Upgrade to Satellite v5.4 having same issue except that executing recognize_guests.py does not recognize any guests systems.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
RHN Satellite v5.4

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Execute recognize_guests.py

Actual results:
No systems are discovered and converted.

Expected results:
All guests which are consuming regular entitlement should be listed and
converted as guest.

The only way to get a guest system to be recognized is to delete the systems profile and register the system

Comment 5 Šimon Lukašík 2011-06-06 07:14:01 UTC
Verified with rhn-upgrade-5.4.0.25-1.el5sat

Testing procedure:
- register a few kvm guets (rhel 4 and 5) to RHN Satellite 5.2.1
- follow the upgrade instructions (including recognize_guests)
- Check EligibleFlexGuests.do page. Including all your guest systems
- Convert guests to consume flex entitlements on webui
- All the guests consume flex entitlement
