Description of problem: Current git in git.gnome.org (which uses RHEL 5) can't highlight Vala files[1]. That's because RHEL5 ships highlight 2.6.12 while Vala support was added in 2.6.14 (dated 21-October-2008). Hence my request to update highlight package to 2.6.14 version to support Vala language. I filed this request as suggested in downstream bug https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=643283 [1] Such as http://git.gnome.org/browse/vala/tree/codegen/valaccodecompiler.vala Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): $ rpm -q highlight -i Name : highlight Relocations: (not relocatable) Version : 2.6.12 Vendor: Fedora Project <http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla> Release : 2.el5 Build Date: Mon 22 Sep 2008 04:20:55 PM UTC Install Date: Mon 21 Dec 2009 02:39:34 PM UTC Build Host: xenbuilder2.fedora.redhat.com Group : Development/Tools Source RPM: highlight-2.6.12-2.el5.src.rpm Size : 1404903 License: GPLv2 Signature : DSA/SHA1, Mon 22 Sep 2008 06:18:59 PM UTC, Key ID 119cc036217521f6 Packager : Fedora Project <http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla> URL : http://www.andre-simon.de/ Summary : Universal source code to formatted text converter Description : A utility that converts sourcecode to HTML, XHTML, RTF, LaTeX, TeX, XSL-FO, XML or ANSI escape sequences with syntax highlighting. highlight is maintained in Fedora EPEL, not RHEL; I'm moving this bug there.
