Description of problem: Beaker will set environment variables $SERVERS and $CLIENTS when run as multihost jobs, on some machines the two variable is not the same as the hostname shows on beaker page, and of cause different from output of hostname command, thus, the tests will fail. This happens on hp-dl160g6-01.rhts.eng.bos.redhat.com, with job https://beaker.engineering.redhat.com/jobs/59258. The $SERVERS contains hp-dl160g6-01.eng.bos.redhat.com. Another mismatch is machines like intel-sugarbay-DH-03.lab.bos.redhat.com, contains capital char, but hostname actually returns intel-sugarbay-dh-03.lab.bos.redhat.com, which is lower case. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 0.6.5 How reproducible: on some machines, not sure how many. Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: The hostname should be all same as the DNS hostname. Additional info:
We can update beaker to store all hostnames as lower case. dns is case insensitive. The dns entry should be fixed for hp-dl160g6-01.rhts.eng.bos.redhat.com I manually changed intel-sugarbay-DH-03.lab.bos.redhat.com to intel-sugarbay-dh-03.lab.bos.redhat.com in beaker.
blocker denied. Please open a ticket with eng-ops for the dns issue. Upper case hostname fixed, will update code to prevent new hosts from being entered this way.
