Does anything else show this? or only the system tray? Do you have composite enabled ? (prefs->window manager tweaks->advanced)
Only the system tray. And it happened both times I booted (albeit quite different messup). I see some glitches, very rarely, when scrolling windows. It looks like only alternate lines of the text get erased/overwritten (no screenshot, sorry). Due to another bug (# 684907) I just removed the intel_ips module and rebooted (now with acceleration enabled), and this time the tray is OK. Preferences -> Window manager tweaks -> Compositor is off.
