Description of problem: After yum update, F15 Alpha no longer boots. With default kernel command line: * it does not reaches the F logo in plymouth * ESC reveals that it is waitin for something * after some time Without plymouth (removing rhgm and quiet kernel parameters) * it does not reach login * virtual terminals not avaiable * after +- 5 minutes, some services errors (libvirt-guests, * after +- 10 minutes, it reaches KDM login, but it does not accept username/password, tryting it tty2 now also username/password is not accepted (like enter does not work, but it does) * ctrl-alt-f2, theng returning to tty1 shows xorg pointer but tty1 text (very bad sign) * ctrt-alt-backspace shows: systemd[1] startup finished in 1s 81ms, bla bla bla, i cannot log in! * issue ctrl-al-del tmp.mount mount process exited, code=exited status=1 starting loggin daemoun... (wait some minutes... a lot of services failed) if you wait some minutes more, more messages... and if you waited yes some more minutes, more messages I will try to get a serial port console capture. I did not change anything in the configuration, there were 2 yum updates, one yesterday and the other before yesterday (witch updated initscripts, but i rebooted twice since that update without any issue) Tried with booting directly in runlevel 3, strange behaviour but i was able to log in. Failed services: abrt.service cgconfig.service console-kit-service libvirt-gursts.service libvirtd.service NetworkManager.service (i dont use it anyways) Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): cannot boot, i will try to get a serial port capture of the boot process How reproducible: cannot boot, tried 5 times. There were a lot of AVCs in audit.log... Booted in single user, modified /etc/selinux/config and set it to permissive Then rebooted and it booted correctly. It is a SELinux or SELinux Policy issue. From yum.log: Mar 18 17:50:58 selinux-policy-3.9.16-5.fc15 Mar 18 17:51:48 selinux-policy-targeted-3.9.16-5.fc15 two 'yum update' were issued: one Mar 18, other Mar 19. There were 2 good reboots between the two updates... Aditional Info: I remembered that i manually (not in config filer) selinux to permissive to test some libvirt/kvm issue, then updated (the selinux one) maybe yum did not handle it well.

confirming this bug, to boot again into KDE I had manually downgrade rsyslog from FC15 alfa installation DVD
