building OpenGTL I suspect some of the hangs are causing the symptoms of other OpenGTL-using apps, like krita, karbon, see also bug #689126
Sorry, to finish the first line... building OpenGTL with -DOPENGTL_BUILD_TESTS:BOOL=ON, and then running 'make test' yields a whole bunch of failures (segfaults mostly) and some hangs. I'll post details here shortly.
Upstream comment, I have fixed the issue upstream, the patch can be found here: https://bitbucket.org/opengtl/opengtl/changeset/c6f1381966ff (should apply cleanly on released versions)
