Description of problem:

While participating in the 2011-03-29 Printing Test Day, it seems that executing the https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA:Testcase_Printing_Complex test results in an incorrect printed page.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
 * evince-2.91.93-1.fc15.x86_64
 * cups-1.4.6-12.fc15.x86_64

How reproducible:
 * Happens everytime when printing using evince. Works fine when using lp command-line

Steps to Reproduce:
 1. Follow steps outlined at https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA:Testcase_Printing_Complex
 2. Print with duplexing *and* only even pages

Actual results:

When I select duplexing and even pages, I see the following pages printed
  * 2, 4, 6, 8, 1, 12, 14, 16
               ^^^

Expected results:

When I select duplexing and even pages. I would expect to see the following pages printed:
  * 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16

Additional info:
 * When testing using the lp command-line, the expected pages are printed
   # lp -d three_west -o sides=two-sided-long-edge -P 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16 /tmp/Testpages.pdf

 * See attached spool file - /var/spool/cups/c00012
 * See attached spool file - /var/spool/cups/d00012-001

Hmm. I have something similar. Using an HP LaserJet [Professional] P1606dn, which inherently has a duplexer and is addressed via socket/JetDirect, my results printing a PDF from Evince are:

first sheet of paper: single sided page, page 2
second sheet of paper: single sided page, page 1
third sheet of paper: single sided page, page 4
fourth sheet of paper: single sided page, page 3

Obviously, this is not what I was hoping for on TWO fronts; first, the duplexer is not used, and second, the order of the pages is wrong. Or rather, maybe the order would be correct if the duplexer was working, but it isn't.

When printing using:

lpr test.pdf

...I get the results I expect: duplex pages, printed in the correct order.

Comment 4 Fedora End Of Life 2012-08-07 19:08:27 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 15 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 15. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
of '15' have been closed as WONTFIX.

(Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this
occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.)

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen
this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we were unable to fix it before Fedora 15 reached end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that
version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
