GPU hung Mar 30 20:47:27 ian kernel: [ 244.128433] [drm:kick_ring] *ERROR* Kicking stuck semaphore on blt ring I tried gathering more information by booting with drm.debug=14, but I was unable to reproduce the problem. Race condition? :-( Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): mesa-dri-llvmcore-7.11-0.1.20110327.0.fc15.x86_64 mesa-dri-drivers-7.11-0.1.20110327.0.fc15.x86_64 mesa-libGLU-devel-7.11-0.1.20110327.0.fc15.x86_64 mesa-dri-filesystem-7.11-0.1.20110327.0.fc15.x86_64 mesa-libGL-devel-7.11-0.1.20110327.0.fc15.x86_64 mesa-libGL-7.11-0.1.20110327.0.fc15.x86_64 mesa-libGLU-7.11-0.1.20110327.0.fc15.x86_64 How reproducible: X generally gets "stuck" very quickly after I log in to KDE (with KDE desktop effects enabled). Additional info: Downgrading the mesa packages back to 7.10-0.29.fc15 gets rid of the problem.
Created attachment 488977 [details] dmesg with drm.debug=14 (no hangs)
Created attachment 489257 [details] dmesg with drm.debug=14 With kernel-2.6.38.2-9.fc15.x86_64, I now get the GPU hangs with drm.debug=14. Attaching dmesg. This shows everything from boot-up until KWin disables desktop effects.
Very similar problem with intel_drv 2.14 (the latest on koji), also compiled and tried with the latest GIT 2.14.902, same problem and output. Please see the attached logs with drm.debug=0x04 boot parm.

Thanks for the bug report. We have reviewed the information you have provided above, and there is some additional information we require that will be helpful in our diagnosis of this issue. Please attach * your X server config file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf, if available), and * X server log file (/var/log/Xorg.*.log) to the bug report as individual uncompressed file attachments using the bugzilla file attachment link above. We will review this issue again once you've had a chance to attach this information. Thanks in advance.
(In reply to comment #7) > Please attach > > * your X server config file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf, if available), and > * X server log file (/var/log/Xorg.*.log) > Huh? Those are already there. Regardless, 7.11-0.5.20110401.0 seems to have fixed this particular problem. (I still see occasional GPU hangs, but KWin desktop effects are working for me again; the situation is basically the same as it was with 7.10-0.29.) Closing this.
(In reply to comment #8) > Huh? Those are already there. I am sorry, yes, they are. I am glad it has been fixed, and thank you for letting us know.
