Created attachment 489349 [details]
screenshots of bad (/good) icons in gnome-shell

Description of problem:

*) See attached file containing screenshots. There are screenshots with few icons displayed (goog icons) and screenshots with badly displayed icons and the scrollbar on the right side.
*) When there are to many icons for displaying them all at once, they are displayed badly.

Seems to be a performance/optimization problem.

  Name : gnome-shell

Using gnome-shell

Additional info:
Some updates earlier, all icons were displayed properly.
Graphics driver: nouveau, graphics card: Nvidia 9300 GS M
All software up to date (2011-03-31)
