Description Gene Snider 2011-04-08 22:34:00 UTC
Description of problem:
When dragging windows, a trail of windows stays on the screen

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
0.9.4-2.fc15

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Update from F14 to F15 with a functioning compiz from Leigh's repo.
2.
3.

Actual results:
When dragging windows, they leave a trail across the screen.

Expected results:
In F14, window dragging was clean.

Additional info:
The option "Loose Bindings" no longer shows up when right clicking the "Compiz Fusion Icon" in the AWN notification area. I have gnome set up to NOT load gnome panel, so AWN can provide the notification area. I have an Intel 945 chipset, and it required "Loose Bindings" to be checked in F14. Executing from the command line gives:

$ compiz --replace --loose-binding &
[1] 23680
$ compiz (core) - Warn: Unknown option '--loose-binding'

I did some looking at the srpms, and the --loose-binding option disappeared sometime between compiz-0.8.6 and 0.9.4. From what I've read in compiz faqs, it was used for problems with Nvidia chipsets. However, it seems to be required for Intel 945 chipsets, too. I downgraded to 0.9.2, but --loose-binding was still unavailable. Are there some other fixes for this problem? Compiz/AWN would be usable if this was fixed.

After today's update of xorg-x11-drv-intel-2.14.0-4.fc15.x86_64 to xorg-x11-drv-intel-2.14.0-5.fc15.x86_64, the problem seems to have been fixed. Sorry for the wasted bandwidth.
