Now that upstream Linux Tools has source tarballs, it would be great to build from them using Tycho. This of course requires a working Tycho in Fedora and p2 repos of all dependencies. I'm filing this RFE with eclipse-changelog but it equally applies to eclipse-{oprofile,valgrind,callgraph}, etc.
There are a number known of problems before this can happen: 1. We need tycho properly packaged into Fedora. 2. We need a system wide p2 repo containing all installed Eclipse plugins. 3. We need tycho modified to resolve against this system wide p2 repo. 4. We need eclipse-linuxtools-parent packaged into a separate package that will be used by maven. There is no point in doing that now because we don't have the time to maintain a package that will be needed someday in the future. I'm pretty sure that there are other unknown yet problems.
A single eclipse-linuxtools package that builds everything in the way upstream releases are done(tycho) is in Fedora now.
