From login screen 2. Select username 3. Select icewm 4. Enter password 5. Select login Actual results: Screen goes black and login page reappears Expected results: Start up icewm session Additional info: The following .xsession-errors is produced. I looked at it by logging in on a console window after the failed login attempt. This same problem occurs in Ubuntu 11.4 (Natty) pre-release. Also: I added a xterm.desktop to the gdm login page. When i logged in with just a xterm window and just ran icewm-seesion the screen went black and I was back in the login page. With Natty this would bring up icewm.
A further clarification. After a fresh boot I get an initial login using icewm which works fine. If I logout and try to login again I just get a momentary black screen an a return to the login page.

Since the bug also happens under Ubuntu Natty, I tried building the icewm 1.3 branch and it also failed. I traced the failure to icewmbg crashing the server when it is run. I submitted the bug upstream on sourceforge as: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=3289566&group_id=31&atid=10003
Fedora 16 seems to work fine.
