Description of problem: http://old.nabble.com/Re%3A-amgtar-getting-Permission-denied-td28223185.html describes the problem for older versions of AMANDA. It seems, it is supposed to be fixed. However, amgtar fails to function and quickly looking at the code, it seems it completely lacks all functionality to setuid/seteuid to 0. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): amanda-client-3.2.2-1.fc15.x86_64 How reproducible: Every time Steps to Reproduce: 1. Setup amanda to do backups using amgtar application 2. It will fail because euid and uid are 'amandauser' not 0
Thank you for the bug report. It should be fixed in next update along with amstar and amservice.
