Description Sachin Ghai 2011-05-02 07:08:14 UTC
Description of problem:
I tried "pulp-admin repo list" and got an error of "Internal server error".

The system was idle from last 2 days. I used the pulp setup on last friday ( 2 days before). After two days, when I tried to access the pulp-server with "pulp-admin repo list" command, it simply thrown an error:

[root@dhcp193-23 e3b]# pulp-admin -u admin -p admin repo list
error: operation failed: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN">
<html><head>
<title>500 Internal Server Error</title>
</head><body>
<h1>Internal Server Error</h1>
<p>The server encountered an internal error or
misconfiguration and was unable to complete
your request.</p>
<p>Please contact the server administrator,
root@localhost and inform them of the time the error occurred,
and anything you might have done that may have
caused the error.</p>
<p>More information about this error may be available
in the server error log.</p>

</body></html>

Pulp-server logs says :

When i got this error, I checked all the services on pulp-server and all were running.

[root@dhcp193-23 e3b]# service qpidd status
qpidd (pid 27086) is running...
[root@dhcp193-23 e3b]# service mongod status
mongod (pid 27084) is running...
[root@dhcp193-23 e3b]# service httpd status
httpd (pid 27114) is running...

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
pulp 0.171
rhui-tools 2.0.22

How reproducible:
I got this issue second time. Earlier I got this on build pulp 0.168. But at that time I simply restarted the pulp-server.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Actual results:
pulp-admin tool throwing "internal server error"

Expected results:
Pulp-admin tool should work even if the system is unused from more than 2 days.

Additional info:

Note: I'm logging this defect becoz I guess this issue is with apache, especially when the system is in idle statefrom more than 2 days.

Here is what I got from /var/log/httpd/error_log file:
